Beary Comfortable

This week at Lasting Memories, the challenge is to show us your best friend... of the furry kind!

Here is my take! I caught my cat sleeping on my giant bear and just HAD to take a picture.

I used my DCWV Basic Stacks and Lush Chipboard stickers. I wanted to keep it fairly simple so your eyes are drawn to the photos.

If you enter you could win this Pawsitively Sweet prize from Kimberly!

So stop on in this week and show us your favorite pal!

Pagerize #20

I won Scrap Our Stash's Pagerize contest for the past month! A layout is featured and one person "Pagerize's", scraplifts, whatever term you want to use. The layout creator then chooses their favorite and that person is featured as the next Pagerize layout!

I saw this sketch from SketchSavvy.blogspot.com at the DCWV blog! I love one photo sketches and had to give it a try!! I did put my own spin on it! I used DCWV Mod Retro Stack, Kaisercraft flowers, and Thickers. The giant heart is from my Hello Kitty Salutations cartridge.

I LOVE this shape from Cricut's Hello Kitty Salutations cartridge!

I am a huge fan of florals!! These were all Kaisercraft.

Now head over to Scrap Our Stash and show me how you would Pagerize this!

Just My Luck!

Now, this weeks Lasting Memories challenge is a little different. We have 3 elements to it if you REALLY want to challenge yourself, but only ONE is mandatory!
  1. We want to see the word LUCKY on your layout - this can be the title, journaling - as long as we see it and this is MANDATORY
  2. If you want a little more challenge, add in what you find inspiring about the photo below (NOT mandatory)
  3. Or challenge yourself by using the word LUCKY and the sketch. Again, this one is NOT mandatory
  4. REALLY want to challenge yourself?? Along with the word LUCKY, try the sketch AND photo!

Here is my take on the challenge!

The colors and shadows in the photo inspired me to use instagram! I did a different effect on each photo to do something funky with it!

I used papers from my stash, Remarks and Pebbles embellishments,

Now head over to Lasting Memories and show us your take on this week's sketch! You will be entered to win a fabulous prize from our very own Suzanne!!

P-intersting.....

I can't believe it's taken me this long to get into Pinterest! It's the perfect way to get and organize craft inspiration.

This was inspired by a sketch from Lawnscaping.

Here is my take:

I used SEI paper, Scenic Route Embellishments, Kaisercraft flowers, Twinery Bakers Twine, Celebrate It Ribbon and brads.

I love the double sided cardstock! You can see a bit of it on the side shot!

The colors are a great, and unique combination! I love the use of the black!

This next one is inspired by a card I saw at Erin Lincoln's Blog.

I love the certain simplicity this card has!

For my take, I wanted to make it Spring-like! I tried a lot of different techniques in this card as well.
I used Martha Stewart tape, Felt, white cardstock, and bling.

I love Pinterest!! Let's just make sure we give credit to where credit is deserved!!

Nom Nom Nom!!

I saw an awesome Pagerize Challenge by Laurie at Scrap Our Stash. Every 15th of each month, an artist features a layout and anyone is welcome to "Pagerize" it. Whatever inspires you, you just interpret it in your own layout!

This is Laurie's Page

This is my interpretation

I love the sketch and the many journaling strips. This was perfect for a layout I wanted to work on for my son! I used 3 photographs instead of just 2 and used the little journaling strips to list the foods my son loves and doesn't like.

Stop by Scrap Our Stash and show us your take on Laurie's Layout! You can be featured next month!

How Sketchy!

This weeks challenge is at Lasting Memories is a fun and easy one - we're asking you to use this sketch WITH the color inspiration photo. Look carefully .. there's black, grey, white and then of course all those pastels.

Karen's offering up some candy this week!!! Here's what you have a chance to win ...

Here is my take on the challenge. My husband and I love going to Menchies, a local Frozen Yogurt spot. I made a layout using My Mind's Eye and DCWV Paper. I was inspired by mostly the pastels, but added a few browns in there as well!

The polka dot background is inspired by the ceiling. (If you look really close, the yellow scallop trim on the bottom is yellow polka dots as well!) My pink checkered paper was inspired by the coffee table cover. My pink and taupe ribbon trim was inspired by the rug.

I added a bundle of buttons. I don't know why, but I really liked the end result.

Stop by this week at Lasting Memories and show us your take on the challenge!!

Crafty Cards

I was feeling Extra Crafty yesterday, so I pulled out my DCWV Crafty Stack and my Ribbon Carousel March Ribbon Kit and took some inspirational cards to make a few of my own.

This first one was inspired by this Frosted Designs Sketch.

I used my Crafter Companion to create the flower and inked the sides.

I used intertwined the pink stripe ribbon with the crochet ribbon for this effect.

The second was inspired by this card. I believe I saw it at either Scrapbook.com or Two Peas in a Bucket. Luckily I have gotten into Pinterest and will be able to keep track of these things better.

I used this owl from ARTChix to add a little fun to the card.

This final card was from Paper Issues. I love the simplicity of it and hand to borrow the design.

Thanks for stopping by today!
