First Halloween

DCWV's September Stack-a-holic Challenge asks us to use Sketch Savvy's Sletch #47. I had the perfect patterned papers from DCWV and I used it to make my son's 1st Halloween LO! I can't wait to take pics and put it in the layout!

I've put my Hello Kitty Cartridge to good use!! I got this cute image from the cartridge!

Yellow

I wanted to do a LO that focuses on this photograph of my son when he was a few days old. I went for a monochromatic theme so the picture pops! I used Sketchy Thursday's 9.22 Sketch.

I will also be entering this to Scrap it With a Song's "Yellow" Challenge.

Holiday Treat

For September, May Arts has an awesome craft challenge. They received what they call "The Happy Accident" ribbon package. I e-mailed Bethany at May Arts and told her my idea on what I would be able to do with the ribbon and I was chosen as one of the 25 to receive the ribbon to create the project with.

Here is what I came up with.
I created an exploding box with a 3D Christmas tree and an Easel Card inside. The pink lace ribbon is wrapped around the box and I made a flower ribbon on top. The thick striped ribbon is the border on the box lid. I used the butterfly ribbon as decoration for the Christmas Tree. The think striped ribbon is on the easel card.

This will also be entered into Scor-Pal's September Challenge

Frames and Flowers

This week in Lasting Memories, we are looking for Frames and Flowers in your LO

I've had these photos stashed up for awhile and have been looking for the perfect opportunity to scrap them! Crazy enough, these photos were taken by the phone in my camera!

I will also be entering this to True XOXO's September Challenge. I was inspired by DT Member Lindsey's LO. I loved how she had tons of flowers and used a shaped cardstock.

Here are another batch of flower pictures!

I will also be entering this into Burlap and Buttercup's September Sketch with a Twist Challenge and Scrap it With a Song's "Fix You" Challenge.

Homecoming

Today is my brother's homecoming for his senior year! I can't believe how fast time flies!

I offered to make him his corsage and boutonniere. I remember spending so much money on those things, just to have it wilt or fall off my corsage before the end of the dance. I decided to make it strictly out of ribbon! This was such a fun project, time consuming, but fun! I lucked out and found out his date's dress is black and white, too!! Perfect match! Hope she likes her corsage!

Positive Thoughts and Prayers for a DT Friend

A fellow DT member from Lasting Memories received some news that her daughter has leukemia. Being a mother myself, I can't imagine what she can possibly be going through right now. I created this card for her and her family. "All it takes is one bloom of hope to make a spiritual garden!"

Evanna, you are and your family are in our thoughts and prayers!

Caramel Apple! Yum!

If you are looking for Triplicate Trial Tuesday's Blog Hop click HERE!

Sketchy Thursday's currently having a GDT Challenge. The challenge is to take the sketch, color, and image for inspiration. The image reminded me of the Caramel Apples I saw at Leavenworth during a family trip! The colors were very Fall-like and I thought it would be perfect for the LO since we went on our trip in October of 2010

Here is my take on the sketch.

Back to work and a baby project

If you are looking for Triplicate Trial Tuesday's Blog Hop click HERE!

Today is my first day back to work after being home for 5 months. I spent the first month on bed rest because of high blood pressure during that came up the last few months of my pregnancy. I spent the next month recovering from emergency C-Section. I spent the last 3 months just taking care of my baby and spending as much time with him as I can. I hardly left him because I knew I had to go back to work eventually and when I did leave, I missed him so much!! I hope I can survive! :)

This project was inspired by my little peanut. I wanted to create something I could carry around that I can use to show off photos of my handsome little fellow.

I did it to make it resemble the wallet picture holders. It fit's wallet pics perfectly! I used My Mind's Eye Alphabet Soup and some Ribbon from my stash!

Off to work I go! Wish me Luck!! I will definitely miss this little guy!

NYC and 9/11

If you are looking for Triplicate Trial Tuesday's Blog Hop click HERE!

Today marks the 10 year anniversary of 9/11. It was a sad time for everyone. I grew up in New York City and moved here about 3 weeks before it happened. I was only a sophomore in high school. I was frantic when I couldn't get a hold of anyone because of the phone lines having issues! Once I did, what I heard from my friends were devastating. I had friends who witnessed the attacks first hand and friends who lost loved ones from this terrible act. 10 years later, it makes me sad when I Google "Twin Towers", instead of showing the beautiful skyline, it shows images of the attack.

For this, I created a basic layout. Now pictures, just words and embellishments. I just wanted to write down a few things I love about the Big Apple to remind me the great memories of the city, rather than the bad.

I will be entering this to Scrapbookers Anonymous' No Photo Challenge. For this LO, I used DCWV's Downtown loft stack.

Let's all take the time to remember the great things that came out of a heartbreaking day.

Black and White

If you are looking for Triplicate Trial Tuesday's Blog Hop click HERE!

This week's Lasting Memories Challenge is an all Black and White LO including photos! I love doing LO's in Black and White because it's so easy to make clean and simple. I still have a few leftover photos from my little wedding which is perfect for this project. This pic is of my mom and I during dinner.
I used Sketchy Thursday's 9.8 Sketch for this LO.

I got an awesome prize pack from ArtChix Studio! They have some awesome craft embellishments for awesome prices! Definitely check it out! I just used one of their windows and covered it with DCWV Cardstock.

Fall and Back to School Blog Hop

Please make sure to stop by all of the blogs as there are some really talented ladies with Fabulous projects on this blog hop.

My little one is way too little to go to school, so for this Hop, I decided to do something for Fall. In Washington State, when you think of fall, you think of Fairs! My husband and I love going to the Puyallup fair every year! We don't do the rides, we go for the food!! Gotta love fair food! They've got everything from Elephant Ears, to funnel cake, to corn on the cob, and even some pizza on a stick! The fair started yesterday and with me going back to work next week, I was afraid my husband and I wouldn't have the same days off so we can go to the fair! We are a little limited because we don't want to bring our little one on a crowded weekend. We would rather go on a weekday morning! Luckily, we are all headed to the this coming Wednesday!

B-A-B-Y

If you are looking for Triplicate Trial Tuesday's Blog click HERE!

I received my son's baptism invitations today and I realized that I haven't scrapbooked his birth announcements! I saw Sketchy Thursday's 9.8 Challenge a few days back and thought it would be perfect for this LO! I wanted to keep it simple and fairly monochromatic.

I wanted to keep it clean and simple, so the embellishments are kept to a minimum. Here, I was attempting to make something different, but it came out looking like a gift bow! No complaints here, it's still cute! :)

First Grandparents' Day

If you are looking for Triplicate Trial Tuesday's Blog click HERE!

This is the first year which my parents and my in-laws get to celebrate Grandparents' Day. I wanted to give them a card for this wonderful occasion!! I know they are super proud to be Grandparents!

For the cards, I used Waltzing Mouse's Challenge #62 for the Sketch. I just switched the location of the circle to the upper left to accommodate my card.

Pile It On is currently having a B's challenge where you pile on as many B items onto your project. For the colors, I used Blues, Brown, and Beige. I have a Bear (who's holding a Baby Bottle, but you can't see it). There's a Bow with a Button on it, a Blossom with Bling on it, and some Brads at the Bottom corner. I also punched the corners of the inside with a Blossom punch.

I will also be entering this card to the following:
The Crafty Pad - Blue and Brown Challenge
Celebrate the Occassion - Grandparents' Day

2 Cards, 2 Layouts!

If you are looking for Triplicate Trial Tuesday's Blog click HERE!

This LO is of my little binky lovin baby! I used Sketchy Thursday's 9.1 Sketch.

This LO is of pics from Great Wolf Lodge a few years ago. I used Elle Studio's Sketch Thursday for 9.1 and followed Challenge Me Happy's Recipe Challenge.

1 x cardstock
2 x photos
3 x different alphas (In the Title: Splash)
4 x different patterned papers
5 x buttons (In the Title)6 x staples (Surrounding each photo)

My brother in-law just had his baby and made this card!

This last one is a wedding card I made for my mom to give to her co-worker! I love making wedding cards because I love to make it match their wedding colors! I think when I do that, the couple has more than just a card to hold on to. If either one of them scrapbook, its an awesome addition! When I began to make this, I knew their color was dark red, and so I decided to throw some gold in there! Luckily enough, I found out later on, it is their other wedding color!!

I added a little slot for a gift card on the second page.

I will be entering this card in the following challenge:
